As we nearly wrap up this year’s Slice of Life Story Challenge, I want to share a few things I’m thinking about (some deeply and some slightly less).
When there’s broccoli in your baby’s bellybutton, you can laugh and smile and say, “There’s broccoli in your bellybutton!”
Water is very good to drink. Drink a lot of it.
If your toddler falls asleep at 4:30pm and you let them sleep and see what happens, hope for the best!
The rent is too damn high.
If you get a haircut and it’s shorter than you expected, tell the stylist, “Looks great!”
Don’t be afraid to play with language.
Let your children lick your face from time to time.
If you make a promise you can’t keep, try learning from your mistake.
Why is it so cold today?
F*@k Trump today and every day.
If there are ants in your kitchen, let them live sometimes.
Is my child safe at school?
The world is a beautiful, poetic, awe-inspiring place.
The world is a terrible, punishing, unjust place.
Babies.
What’s for dinner?
